Wound presentation
- Presented to ER with severe burns to bilateral feet after walking barefoot on hot sand on the beach
- First presented in the office July 28, 2020
Treatment
- Initially, betadine solution and wet-to-dry dressing was applied to bilateral foot
- Week two post-injury, surgical sharp debridement with ADAPTIC™, wet-to-dry dressing, ABD™ pad, KERLIX™ and ACE ™ wrap
- Upon hospital discharge, dressings were removed and changed daily in order to observe the burn
- SANTYL Ointment with XEROFORM™ and dry dressings were applied once daily
- Patient was seen weekly in the office for sharp debridement and daily dressing changes were performed by home healthcare
- Left foot healed in 30 days with weekly sharp debridement and daily SANTYL Ointment
- Right foot/leg needed vascularizing, but progressed on healing after vascular intervention. Left foot healed in one and a half months; right foot healed in four months
